In November 1983, after graduation from Northwest High School in Clarksville, TN I enlisted in the U.S. Navy. While I was building a great career with the Navy, I was still not mature in my decision-making; I had no wisdom nor had I the best discernment in choosing my friends. I still had insecurity issues and I chose to befriend someone I shouldn’t have.

Over the past 25 years I have endeavored to be a “Servant-Leader” in all aspects of my life. The Servant-Leader is servant first. Servant-Leadership begins with a natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first. It is a conscious choice that brings one to aspire to lead (i.e., minister). I know I have been called and I have made the choice. My desire to serve is founded in my personal code: “To have Faith is to have Purpose, and Purpose in life is what defines a man, and makes him steadfast and resolute. Faith keeps him true, and, even in the darkest hours, illuminates him like a candle flame. Faith guides him surely from birth to the grave. It shows him the path, and prevents him from straying into the light-less thickets where insanity awaits. To lose Faith is to lose Purpose, and to be bereft of guidance. For a man without Faith will no longer be true, and a mind without Purpose will walk in dark places.” As a member my Fraternity, I’ve worked to be an effective Servant-Leader for the community as guided by Holy Spirit. Since becoming a WOF Covenant Member and joining the Usher Ministry I am committed to being the best doorkeeper I can be in the Lord’s House. God has blessed me in ways that have not always been pleasant or easy, but were necessary and full of lessons to help me become the best Christian Gentleman I can be as – as were my father Deacon Billy L. I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of 7 at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Lexington, KY. Since moving to Atlanta officially in 2006 I joined Cascade United Methodist Church as their equivalent of a Covenant Member. I began attending Word of Faith in 2011 and joined January 1, 2012, becoming a Covenant Member and Usher in 2013.
