Like most Christians, I spent a lot of time running from my calling. No matter how far I ran, I always knew that something was missing. In 2014, I sat down with God and specifically told Him of the desires of my heart. Three of those desires are as follows: to become active in ministry, pursue a Bachelor degree in Ministry or Theological Studies, and obtain my Minister’s license. The Sunday announcement of the Ministers in Training Program was a spiritual confirmation. I no longer wanted to just attend church. It was pretty apparent that attendance and tithing are simply a part of the bigger picture. Ministry is an active commitment. There is a tugging on my heart, and I know that the time is now. I am a part of Pray Until Something Happens (PUSH). I believe that the success of any ministry program is based on three key factors – strong leadership, the effective development of its members and commitment. A key principle of the Institute of Ministry and Leadership Development’s vision is to develop Christian leaders. MIT will equip me for the battlefield, and the training will inspire confidence. In return, this will allow me to engage in effective ministry. I will be in a position to apply what I learn to PUSH. Learning and development is contagious. I wholeheartedly expect to “infect” other members of PUSH with what I learn on a weekly basis. The participation in this program inspires my commitment to the ministry and the leadership. My growth and development will allow me to confidently assist the PUSH leadership, or any ministry, in any way required.
